After taking a break from recording measurements on the S4 I’ve decided to reinstall some of my data logging equipment and resume looking into ‘what happens when’ type of questions.

With the current warm summer temperatures I’ve decided to take some temperature readings under the hood. I’ve got a pair of Auber Instruments gauges that are able to retransmit their data to an external recording device, the DATAQ box.

The Auber gauges are connected to a pair of resistance temperature detectors, one inside the airbox placed up against the intake side of the air filter, and the other is located in the compressor intake pipe, about 8 inches prior to the turbocharger inlet.
