VAST Performance Review
Early concerns
While discussing the tuning process with the local dealer I had asked:
“Back to the tuning. I'm trying to understand the logistics of the iterations of code. Will I be sending the ECU to you for each revision? Would I be able to get the car onto a dyno so the tuning could be accelerated?”
The answer I got that addressed the dyno part was not the answer I was expecting.
“Dyno tuning doesn't really help, as you'll get better "real world" conditions on the road with actual air cooling the car/ics, and intake temps will be accurate, etc.”
I understood the difference between cooling on the road and dyno, but for a controlled environment to rapidly tune the car I figured a dyno would be more suitable. This wasn’t an issue to get hung up over, but it did increase my attention toward what was being done with my car.
